About

i - Cube Science Club develops and conducts science experiments to develop spirit of inquiry and love of science amongst school children.  We directly intervene amongst 75 government schools and approximately 50 underserved private schools in Faridabad, Haryana.  The impact of our work is nationwide: the experiments developed by us have been published by Haryana Board, Haryana Government as part of its curriculum from academic year 2014-15.

Additionally, i-Cube Science Club works with government schools under Government of Karnataka, where we provided one day teacher training in their DIETs to the groups of 50 teachers and resource persons. We had also provided training to teacher trainers from two provinces of Afghanistan; Bamyan and Baghlan and a group of 69 teachers from Department of Education, Central Tibetan Administration at NCERT Delhi.

The unique feature about our training is we use the most important scientific tool : The Scientific Method.  It may be noted that the Education Department of Haryana  has specifically complimented the Science Club for introducing The Scientific Method in the teaching of experiments since 2013.  Subsequently, the Education Department of Haryana published many experiments in a book as part of its curriculum for the academic year 2014-15.

The seeds of what we do germinated in 2011 in a home in Faridabad when a Science Club was founded by Lakshya Kaura. It was a club where we in the neighbourhood (and beyond) used to come together every weekend 4 hours, two hours each on Saturday and Sunday. To tinker, solder and try. It was a place where students were attracting other students in the learning of Science. A couple of schools came to know about this and invited us. Such scientific experimentation is now extended to underserved schools in Faridabad. Soon we became ‘teachers’ of sorts.
Our goal is to take the scientific experimentation to the schools particularly to the underserved schools. We thus supplement the school not supplant their curriculum.
We envision an India where all of us in the schools get an opportunity to have fun with science so the latent potential is unleashed. Our mission is to provide a package of scientific experiments through a competent and motivated team that will teach science while having fun.

Step 1: The resource persons present the experiment. ('Let us see it')
Step 2: The resource persons ask volunteers to do the experiment and share their views with others. (‘Let us try it’)
Step 3: Participants from your side perform experiments in sub-groups which provides hands on training experience. ('Let us do it')
Step 4: Session evolution and feedback ('Let us improve it')
